Happy Lunar New Year!
Allow me to forward your message to our fellow HAPA-NA friends.
Taiwanese have no choice, and we must do what we should do for our
homeland. Sometimes, we ask ourselves, what can we do for Taiwan?
Actually, HAPA-NA has clear goals in our mission statement:
1． 發揚客家語言文化, 並爭取客家權益。
2． 聯合海內外客家人及台灣各語系族群共同推展台灣公共事務，
促進台灣國家正常化。
3． 特別議案之研究及政策之研擬。
4． 關心臺灣客家人在北美之權益。
It is important to ask ourselves: what does each individual member
has adopted any certain project in our daily life that will meet with
HAPA-NA's goals ? Shall we pick at least one thing that we will do
it persistently and it will make ourselves feel that we are an honorable
HAPA-NA member.
Maybe this could be our 2013 Lunar New Year's resolution.
2-28 Commemorative Concert in L.A. is coming soon... Hakka friends
here are working hard for this one again. Sam-Gup-Shui Studio is
honored to play an important role for 2-28 Concert since 2-28's 60th
Anniversary. Hakka's 2-28 songs are also be included in the program
every year.

嗯大家還有機會共下為臺灣打拚，係當值得將來懷念个日仔，
意義深長，機會難得。
嗯兜寫个客家三行詩乜共樣，毋係見著人就會作，
係冇嗯兜个人生背景，揀人會寫。
所以講，嗯兜作三行詩，也可以講，係為著客家話介傳承來打拚。
啀希望，有經驗、有學問的台美人精英，能夠利用業餘个時間，
用三行詩寫出自己過去个經驗，
或者，寫兜對將來介願望，一來傳承客家話；二來將自家个經驗、
智慧、理想，講分後生人聽；
三來，年底來出本台美人个客家三行詩集，好分後生人作好樣，
冇定對小英2016年選總統會有
當大个幫助。
毋好講恁多，煞猛寫三行詩就著了。
言歸正題，客家話當多借用字，無一定个標準，
各各專家有自己个堅持，莫衷一是，語言
本來就係，「習慣變自然的東西」，毋使想恁多，
Thomas講个著，毋會寫个字就用拼音就好，
英文日文都有共樣个例仔，日文个外來語拼音有一千擔。

Dear 羅 先生 and All,
承蒙送過來鍾老「重建台灣魂」等介吩咐。Just wonder if 「吩咐」used is acceptable as well. Also try so hard to reach deep in my mind to ask one question, that is, whether I still have that 「台灣魂」all night. My first reaction to the word, 「魂」is the word, "spirit" or "soul" in English. Most of people would agree, I hope. Actually, to American people, anything going with your mind and any words connecting to it stay or flow with soul or spirit.
Make sense, doesn't it? If you look up the synonyms for soul, you will find the following words in a special dictionary.

Mind, Spirit, Intellect, Life, Force, Essence, Genius, Principle, Reason, Mentality, Intelligence, Intellectuality, Conception, Thought, Understanding, Ego, Psyche.
After going over these words, I feel a little better.

The 228 memorial day is around the corner. Just wonder whether 228 memorial park in Taipei City is still there as clean and beautiful as before. I still remembered so well that a sign or statue of four squares hit very hard and I knew what it says and means. That is double eight(二二八), isn't it?
